2023 FOCL Award Winners
The Friends of Connecticut Libraries are pleased to announce the 2023 FOCL Award winners. The awards will be presented at the FOCL Annual meeting to be held on June 10, 2023 at the Avon Public Library starting at 9:30 a.m.
Group Awards are given to The Friends of the East Hampton Public Library and The Friends of the Farmington Library. A Focused Project is given the Friends of the Meriden Library.
Individual Achievement Awards are given to Janet Witty of East Haddam, Pat Pierce of Seymour, Mimi Greenlee of Westport and Ashwinee Sadanand of New Britain.
The Avon Public Library is located at 281 Country Club Road, Avon CT 06001. The meeting is free however you must register by June 1, 2023. You can register by contacting Debbie Misiaszek at 860-881-7144 or email misiaszekd@comcast.net.
The featured speaker is Susan Schonberger, local author and winner of the Gold Medal for Popular Fiction. Susan will have books for sale and signing.

Since 1983, FOCL has been recognizing outstanding local Friends organizations, groups and individuals in Connecticut. We believe it is important to recognize those who have provided dedicated service to their libraries at our annual meeting each June. The awards serve as an opportunity for our membership to publicly thank groups and individuals to whom they owe so much.
The awards are selected from three population groups and have three categories:
