Annual Friends of Connecticut Libraries Awards 2024

Dear Friends Group:

The Friends of Connecticut Libraries is pleased to invite all of our Friends Groups to participate in our 2024 awards. This is an opportunity to recognize talented people in your organization or the entire Friends group and nominate them for one of the Friends of Connecticut Libraries Awards.

The awards will be presented at our annual meeting on June 15, 2024 at the Avon Public Library in Avon.  The winning Friends will receive this recognition in the company of people who understand and personify dedicated library service.

If you have any questions regarding the awards, please do not hesitate to call me at 203-525-5674 or write me at foclawards@gmail.com.

Since 1983, FOCL has been recognizing outstanding local Friends organizations, groups and individuals in Connecticut. We believe it is important to recognize those who have provided dedicated service to their libraries at our annual meeting each June. The awards serve as an opportunity for our membership to publicly thank groups and individuals to whom they owe so much.

The awards are selected from three population groups and have three categories:

  • Friends Group Award: Focused on the total effort (breadth and depth) of the Friends group
  • Individual Achievement Award: Given to one or two individuals for exceptional service including lifetime achievement
  • Focused Project Award: A project usually accomplished or orchestrated by a small group or committee
