Proposed FRIENDS OF LIBRARY celebration during Friends Week

October 16-22, 2022

PURPOSE:   Group activity of community for all Friends groups to do under the umbrella of Friends of Connecticut Libraries.

GOAL: 

  1. To read to children
  2. Gift to the community
  3. Recognition of Friends week through event

TASKS:

  1. Set up reading time(s) at Library/  Bookstore
  2. Invite children from the Library to attend after school or on Saturday
  3. Invite Friends/Local Dignitaries to read
  4. Publicize event local and social media
  5. Put event on website
  6. Take pictures of event
  7. Send photos out with explanation of what the event was and why it took place
  8. Send photos to FOCL newsletter

TASKS SPECIFICALLY FOR FOCL

  1. Draft Invite to all to participate, emphasize that participation is optional but it would be nice to do as group
  2. Post on FOCL Forum & Social Media (FB)
  3. Prepare press releases and distribute
  4. Offer to attend reading sessions
  5. Assist with preparations
  6. As Friends groups sign up, promote
