Don’t miss the Simsbury Library’s biggest event of the year! Their popular annual Giant Used Book Sale will be held at the Simsbury High School on Saturday, September 9th(9am-5pm) and Sunday the 10th (10am -4pm).  There is plenty of free parking, with easy access to the gym where the event is held.

Over the summer, thousands of books have been collected and carefully sorted, so that only the best are presented at the sale! The books are organized in separate sections to make your shopping easier. There are more than 30 categories of nonfiction from cooking, biography, parenting, arts, poetry & drama, how-to and hobbies, travel, history, business, science and nature, computers to religion, self-help, sports and games and more.

Fiction books are divided by hardcover (sorted alphabetically by author), trade paperbacks and regular paperbacks by genre.  There is a HUGE children’s’ section containing top quality books, games and puzzles. Also available are large print books, DVDs, CDs and audio tapes for children and adults. A “Special Selections” section includes old and rare books plus collectibles.

Everything is priced to sell, most at $.50 - $5.00. On Sunday there is an all day bag sale, where for $10 you can fill a grocery bag (supplied by us) with almost anything still available. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards (for purchases over $25).

Many libraries have annual book sales, but Simsbury’s is famous for its organized layout, constant table restocking and efficient checkout lines. This is due to the Friends of Simsbury Public Library’s many volunteers who come back year after year to make this, their major fund-raising event, such a success.

All proceeds from the Giant Used Book Sale support programs and services at the Simsbury Library.
